SSH to your VPS Server

It’s time to connect your account via shell. If you have VPS account, you get a privilege to access your account via SSH.
In this article we will show you, how to connect your server via SSH.

Step 1. To connect your account via SSH you will need to download Putty which can be done via link Putty download

Step 2. Open Putty, fill out the Hostname or IP Address field with your Hostname(eg. server.sslcertzone.com) or IP Address. In port field, put 1891.

Step 3. Click on the Open button to proceed further.

Step 4. You will see a black Screen which is called Command Line Window, you will be asked for the SSH username at the login as prompt. Type “root” and then press Enter on your keyboard.

Step 5. Now on the next step, you will also be asked for the SSH password. Type it in and then press Enter on your keyboard. (You can simply copy from welcome email and right click on shell)

How to enable Update now button for Awstats from cPanel.

Connect Your MySQL Database Remotely

To make this possible, first you will have to allow the connection from within cPanel for the IP address you are connecting from.

Adding an IP address to allow a remote MySQL connection

Step 1. Login to your Cpanel >> click on “Remote MySQL” under the Databases Section.

Step 2. Now, you will need to add the IP address into the field on the page and select “Add Host”. To get your local IP you can visit link : http://whatismyipaddress.com

Now, since you have added the IP address to remote MySQL connections you will be able to connect to the databases. You can add as many IP addresses as you need.

Allow all Ip’s using Wildcard entry

Step 3. If your IP address changes regularly, you can add a wildcard by using the % symbol. This will add all IP addresses in that range.

If you want to list all IP addresses in the range 192.168.92.1 to 192.168.92.255 you’d add the IP address 192.168.92.%

Creating a forwarder in cPanel

Step 1. To access the forwarders menu, log into your cPanel, and navigate to section Mail > Forwarders: .

Step 3. Put the name of the email address you wish to forward from in the first blank field. For example: for user@yourdomainname.com, put user in the first blank field.

You can choose to what address the incoming mail should be forwarded. The other option is to choose a failure message which will be returned to the sender.

Step 4. Click on Add Forwarder to add the forwarder.

Make sure you have spelled both email addresses correctly when adding forwarders.

The email will be forwarded if john@example1.com is not an existing email address or auto responder.”
